Fredericka “Marge” Hoekstra, age 90, of Grand Haven passed away Saturday, April 11, 2009, at her home. She was born October 29, 1918, in Detroit, MI, to Jens and Rika (Beesboer) Overgaard, and she married Maynard Hoekstra on June 29, 1940, in Detroit. He preceded her in death on March 21, 2002.
Marge was a member of First Christian Reformed Church in Grand Haven. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting.
Survivors include three daughters: Glenys (Tom) Weatherell of Sebring, FL, Lenore (Ron) Kieft of Grand Haven, Jerene (Norman) Goebel of Fremont; six grandchildren: Thomas, Nancy, Jonathan, Jeffrey, Benjamin, and Matthew; nine great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Harvey Overgaard.
The service for Marge was held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 13, 2009, at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home in Grand Haven with Rev. Richard Hamstra officiating.
