Gail K. Bowen, age 70, of Spring Lake passed away Monday, July 13, 2009 at Hackley Hospital in Muskegon. She was born March 5, 1939 to Ray and Mamie (Kramer) Broeffle in Detroit, and she married David Bowen in 1964 in Gatlinburg, TN.
Gail was a wonderful mom raising two sons in Caledonia prior to moving to Spring Lake in 1986. She enjoyed the water and boating.
Gail is survived by her devoted husband Dave; 2 sons, Mark (Marybeth) Bowen of Cascade and Michael Bowen and Julie Bowen of Spring Lake; 3 daughters: Bonnie Jo Parker of Brighton, MI, Vicki (Roger) Nutter and Lynn Papp, both of Cincinnati; and 10 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents.
The service for Gail will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 17, 2009, at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home in Spring Lake with Rev. Daniel Anderson officiating. Friends may meet the family Thursday 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Spring Lake Cemetery. Memorials to the Foundation Fighting Blindness, www.blindness.org, are appreciated.
