Shirley June Boeve, age 83, passed away Thursday, September 24, 2009, at her son’s home in Bitely, MI. She was born September 16, 1926 to Howard and Julia (Whybrew) Paro, and she married LaVerne Boeve on March 22, 1946, at Fort McLellan, Alabama. He preceded her in death on December 5, 1978.
Shirley was a lifelong resident of Spring Lake and a member of the Spring Lake Presbyterian Church. She worked at North Ottawa Community Hospital as the switchboard operator for 20 years. She loved to read, especially Stephen King books and watching the Sci-Fi shows on TV.
Shirley is survived by two sons, Howard (Roberta) Boeve of Bitely, MI, and Gregg (Dawn) Boeve of Spring Lake; seven grandchildren: Ryan Boeve of Sarasota, FL, Brett (Martha) Boeve of Grand Haven, Monique (Darrien) Botruff of Spring Lake, Brian Boeve, Tracy Boeve, Jenna Boeve and Zachary Boeve, all of Spring Lake; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a special family member, Donna Boeve. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband LaVerne, and one son, Robert Boeve on April 25, 1980.
A Time of Remembering & Sharing will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Monday, September 28, at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home in Spring Lake.
