Obituary:
Louis G. Buron, age 89, of Grand Haven passed away Monday, September 28, 2009, at the Leila & Cyrus Poppen Hospice Residence in Muskegon. He was born July 7, 1920, in Chicago, IL, to Louis Sr. and Antoinette (Jilek) Buron. On August 24, 1946, he married the former Mae Marecek in Chicago, and she survives him along with a sister-in-law, Betty Feldt, and a brother-in-law, Tony Marecek, both of Robinson Township; and three cousins: Frank (Jeri) Erdman, Christine Courtney, and Christine Daigle. Louis served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II and was employed as a metal finisher for Bastian-Blessing for 36 years. He was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church where he had served as a Minister of the Eucharist and also as an usher. He was a member of the VFW Sgt. Alvin Jonker Post #2326 and a former color-bearer for the Honor Guard. He enjoyed traveling. The Funeral Mass for Louis will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 3, 2009, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Grand Haven with Rev. William Langlois as celebrant. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be in Lakeshore Cemetery. Military rites will be provided by the VFW Sgt. Alvin Jonker Post #2326 Honor Guard. Memorial contributions in honor of Louis may be made to the Harbor Humane Society, the St. Anthony’s Catholic Church Memorial Fund, or the Leila & Cyrus Poppen Hospice Residence of Harbor Hospice.
