Obituary:
Jillanne Marie Fricano, age 43, of Grand Haven passed away September 30, 2009, at her home after a courageous three-year battle with cancer. She is now resting peacefully. She was born October 6, 1965, in Grand Rapids, MI, to Robert and Sharon (Harmleink) Myers, and she married Michael J. Fricano on June 6, 1987, in Grand Haven. Jill was a 1983 graduate of Whitehall High School and went on to earn a Bachelors degree in Social Work from Western Michigan University in 1987 and a Masters degree in Social Work from Grand Valley State University in 1993. She worked as a social worker for the Ottawa County Health Department Hudsonville office for more than fifteen years, a position she truly loved and performed admirably. She was also a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Jill had great energy, a positive attitude, and a wonderful sense of humor. She was also strong-willed, and she successfully completed a marathon as well as triathlons. She always put others before herself. Jill was a great person, friend, social worker, and above all, wife and mother. She will be forever loved and missed by her husband, Michael; two daughters, Alyssa and Tessa Fricano; including all other close family members and friends. The Funeral Mass for Jill will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 5, 2009, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Grand Haven with Rev. William Langlois as celebrant. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Jill’s House, 751 E. Tamarack Trail, Bloomington, IN 47408, www.jills-house.org, are appreciated. Share memories with the family at their online guest book at www.vbkfuneralhome.com.
