Obituary:
Mrs. Wanda Komar, age 90, of Grand Haven, passed away Thursday, November 12, 2009. She was born April 28, 1919 in Tonawanda, New York to August and Mary (Dzus) Dworzenski and had lived in Westland, MI until one year ago. Mrs. Komar was a licensed Psychiatric Nurse and worked for the State of Michigan at Northville State Hospital. She had been a very active member of St. Theodore’s Catholic Church in Westland, MI. On July 26, 1937 she married Myron Komar in Detroit and he preceded her in death in 1977. She is survived by two sons: Dan (Judy) Komar of Spring Lake, and Raymond Komar of Camarillo, California; four grandchildren: Beth Gowan, Phil Komar, Jeffrey Komar, Kevin Komar; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Wally Dworzenski. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10:00 AM Saturday, November 14, 2009 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Spring Lake with Rev. Fr. Daniel DePew presiding. Visitation with the family will take place tonight from 4 – 9 PM with a Rosary at 7:30 PM at the VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home in Spring Lake. Interment will take place in Riverside Cemetery in Plymouth; MI. Memorial Contributions may be given to Hospice of North Ottawa Community.
