William D. Appel, age 56, of Walkerville and formerly of Grand Haven passed away Thursday, November 26, 2009, at Mercy Hospital in Muskegon. He was born November 11, 1953 in Grand Haven to William G. and Beverly (George) Appel.
Bill loved his music, enjoyed karaoke and was a former member of the Robinson Boys. He also loved the outdoors, especially fishing and tinkering in his garage.
On September 13, 2003 he married the former Patricia Glover and she survives him along with 2 children, Steven (Crystal) Appel of Walhalla, MI., and Stephany (Jeff) Petersberger of Ohio; 2 step-children, Cynthia (Michael) Dyson, and James (Lori) Clark; 5 grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 2 step-great-grandchildren; his mother Beverly George; 3 sisters: Sharon Roberts and Donna McCulloch, both of Grand Haven, and Terri (Terry) Keith of Texas; He was preceded in death by his father William G. Appel, and 1 son William D. Appel, Jr. in 1999.
A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, November 30, 2009, at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home in Grand Haven with Rev. Gail Ellis officiating. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home. Memorials to the family are appreciated.
