Byron Chester Emery, Jr., age 59, of Grand Haven, passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2009, at his home. He was born April 28, 1950, in Grand Haven, to Byron Sr. and Ellen (Dreese) Emery.
Byron worked at Camshaft and Zelenka Nursery. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cribbage, camping, and the Lord.
He is lovingly remembered by his significant other of 27 years, Barb Swanson; three daughters: Ellen (Dave) Douma and Amy (Vince) Simonte, both of Grand Haven, and Ginnie (Mike) Gould of LaPorte, IN; one son, Jaime Swanson of Ludington; eight grandchildren: David, Jasin, Steven, Andy, Colton, Chandler, Chase, and Kylee; his mother, Ellen Emery of Grand Haven; one sister, Cathy (Rick) Fox of Grand Haven; one brother, Ken Emery of Cody, WY; aunt Floosie Coryell of Lansing; also several nieces, nephews, cousins and his best friend Rusty Lyttle. He was preceded in death by his father, Byron Sr., and his brother John E. Emery.
A Memorial Service for Byron will be held at 4:00 p.m. Monday, December 7, 2009, at the Sgt. Alvin Jonker VFW Post 2326 with Post Chaplain Jerry Tripp officiating.
