Mr. Herbert F. Snyder, age 70, of Nunica, passed away Saturday, January 23, 2010 at his home. He was born in Highland Park, MI to Ervine and Lillian (Parnell) Snyder and came to this area from Oscoda, MI.
Mr. Snyder was a 1957 graduate of Brighton High School. Over the years they attended many area Catholic Churches where they had lived. He was a member of the Casino Club of Grand Rapids and Northview High School Athletic Boosters Club. He loved golf, bowling and boating. He coached many Little League sports teams – football, baseball and basketball and loved spending time with his family.
On March 20, 1971 he married Raymonda Wachter in Chicago and she survives him along with 2 daughters: Brenda (Jeff) Miller of Grand Rapids and Caroll (Steve) Stout of Marne; 5 sons: Dean (Lisa) Snyder of Fruitport, Bryan (Marcy) Holmes of Grand Rapids, Craig (Vicki) Holmes of Coopersville, Dennis (Marlo) Snyder of Muskegon, and Matthew (Jennifer) Snyder of Danville, CA; 18 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by 1 brother, John (Donna) Snyder of Grand Rapids, and 1 sister-in-law, Betty Wachter of Spring Lake. He was preceded in death by 1 sister, Norma Jean, and 1 brother-in-law, Milfred Wachter
Services will be held Wednesday, January 27 at 11:00 a.m. from St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Spring Lake with Rev. Fr. Daniel DePew as celebrant. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday 3-7 p.m. with a Scripture Service at 6:45 p.m. at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home in Spring Lake and 1 hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
