Marva Ann Rose, age 56, of Spring Lake passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2010, at a local hospital. She was born June 19, 1953, in Muskegon, MI, to Jack and Betty Jean (Aney) Aker.
Marva was graduate of Grand Haven High School. She was a talented artist and enjoyed painting, drawing, bird watching, and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed spending time with her cat, Velcro. She previously worked at the Waverly Home in Grand Haven as a residential caregiver and also at Ferry School as a para-professional.
Marva married John A. Rose on January 31, 1987, in Grand Haven and he survives her along with one daughter, Taylor Rose, at home; two sons, Tristan Rose, at home, and Michael (Angela) Rose of Grand Haven; two grandchildren, Hunter and Tegan; four sisters: Linda (Roger) VanOpynen of Grand Haven, Barbara Badolati of Muskegon, Jill (Dave) Ray of Charlotte, NC, and Ann Scheibner of Muskegon; and five brothers: David (Susan) Aker, Mark (Gloria) Aker, Jack Aker, all of Muskegon, Brett (Mari) Aker of Bridgman, MI, and Daniel (Kathleen) Aker of Tega Cay, SC. She was preceded in death by her parents and her mother- and father-in-law, John Sr. and Lois Rose.
The service for Marva will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 8, 2010, at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home in Grand Haven with Rev. Ronald DePung officiating. Friends may meet the family 1-3 and 5-7 p.m. Sunday, February 7, at the funeral home in Grand Haven. Interment will be in Lakeshore Cemetery.
