Mrs. Mary Antoinette Rutan, age 96, of Holland passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at Rest Haven Care Center in Holland. She was born August 31, 1913 in Bismarck, North Dakota and had lived in the Grand Haven area until 2006.
She graduated high school in Prague, Czechoslovakia. On August 27, 1942 she married Herbert Rutan in New Jersey and he preceded her in death August 9, 1980. Mrs. Rutan was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church and was a member of the VFW Woman’s Auxiliary.
She is survived by 1 daughter-in-law, Helen Mihulka; 3 grandchildren: Carla (Craig) Miller of California, Elizabeth Mihulka of South Carolina, and Andrew (Mark) Mihulka of Manistee, MI; 5 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Charles Mihulka; 1 brother, Frank Jauris; and 1 sister, Adeline Walsh.
A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at VanZantwick Bartels Kammeraad Funeral Home in Grand Haven. Visitation with the family will be held 1 hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in Lake Forest Cemetery.
