Mrs. Frances Goodsell, age 98, passed away Sunday, February 7, 2010 at a nursing home in Grand Haven. She was born September 25, 1911 in Decatur, MI to George and Nellie (Earl) Thompson and has lived almost all of her life in the Otsego area.
She was a member of First Congregational Church in Otsego, MI, she was a member of the Literary Guild, Friends of the Library, and Allegan Historical Society. On November 13, 1935 she married Edward Goodsell in Plainwell, MI and he preceded her in death on March 1, 2004.
She is survived by 3 granddaughters: Stacy Bush of Spring Lake, Lisa (Jeff) Billingsley of Spring Lake, Erin (Dale) Rehberger of Virginia Beach; 6 great-grandchildren: Megan, Colin, Dan, Molly, Brittany, Sean; and 4 great-great- grandchildren: Jack, Cienna, Emma, Miah. She is also survived by 1 sister: Jessie Drew; and 1 brother: Richard (Connie) Thompson. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Beverly Schroeder; 3 brothers: Lyman, Howard and Russell; and 1 sister, Mary.
A Memorial Service will take place 2:00 PM Saturday, February 13, 2010 at First Congregational Church with Rev. Don Ray officiating. (120 West Morrell Street, Otsego, Michigan 49078) The family has asked for memorial contributions in honor of Frances to be given to First Congregational Church.
