Dorothy K. Boseker, age 93, of Grand Haven passed away on Friday, March 5, 2010, at Oak Crest Manor in Spring Lake. She was born July 26, 1916, in Hancock, MI to William and Bessie Gladys (Dugdale) Kendall. She was married to Clarence W. C. Boseker on November 11, 1937, in Grand Haven, and he preceded her in death on November 18, 2000.
Dorothy lived in Grand Haven all of her life and was a stay at home mom to her children. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Grand Haven and sang in the choir for years. She was a member of the Ladies Circle, Order of Eastern Star, past Worthy Matron, and past president of the Metropolitan Auxiliary. Dorothy loved knitting, crocheting and counted cross-stitching, playing bingo, and cards. Her home was always open to those who wanted to stop and visit or anyone who needed help with knitting. Dorothy and Clarence were involved in the creation of the Haven School for the mentally handicapped, and also Kandu Inc. Dorothy loved living at Oak Crest with her warm smile.
She is lovingly remembered by 4 daughters: Linda L. Boseker of Spring Lake, Karen R. (Warren) Suchecki of Grand Ledge, Jane K. (Roger) Bolhouse of Allendale, and Judith A. (James) Naperalsky of Norton Shores; 9 grandchildren: Todd (Mary) Suchecki, Tim Suchecki, Mark (Amy) Suchecki, Scott Suchecki, Jeff (Amber) Bolhouse, Dan Bolhouse, Jeanine (Scott) Hamilton, Jennifer (Eric) Carey, and Janette (Sam) Botello; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence, 1 grandson Tom Suchecki, 2 sisters and 2 brothers.
The service for Dorothy will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 9, 2010, at First Presbyterian Church in Grand Haven with Rev. Thomas Cook officiating. Friends may meet the family for a time of visitation and fellowship following the service at the church. Interment will be in Lake Forest Cemetery.
